Brilliance

Turn a birdcage into a chandelier.  What a beautiful way to reuse something that you may have stored away in your garage or basement.  I wonder what else would work well being turned into a chandelier.  I think placement would be key on this as well.

Mirrors

Just Pretty to Look At

Beautiful way to display accessories and jewelry.

What an innovative way to display those lovely store bags that you don't know where to put.

Love the petticoat and hardwood floors.  This closet is the stuff beautiful outfits are made of!

She saves her perfume samples in a cup.

Sorry for the delays in Posting

1.)  I was a victim of cyber bullying on Facebook by a 32 year old person because I defriended her.  This made me sad.  She was very mean and I really feel for all the teenagers out there who go through that without the super high, almost inflammatory self-esteem that I have.

2.)  I got a job offer!!

3.)  I got a counter offer from my current job!!

So anyway...it has been a crazy few days.  I will post tonight once I am done with work.

With Love!

Project Pillow

Success!  I did it!  I am very excited about my throw pillows that I made.  I think they turned out lovely and I can't wait to dive into more home interior projects like this one.  I would really like to make curtains next.  Although I don't have windows in the basement, so that may be a moot point for now.

My new painting  is also pictured.  My husband says it reminds him of my Sephora makeup palette

Just Pretty to Look At

Now and Then

Emily Clark has a fabulous series featuring designer's apartments from when they were just starting out, to once they evolved in their design sense.  Really makes me think I need to do something to my green couch sitting in storage.  Dark green just doesn't go with the new palette.

So THIS is how you do it.....

Brett Bara has a great blog on sewing and DIY projects.  She has a new book coming out that I definitely need if I am ever going to figure out how to make those damn throw pillow covers.  This video covers how to make a simple skirt. The skirt is adorable and I think it is actually a feasible project for a novice like me to complete.  Brett is also giving away a sewing machine and a serger.  You should check out her blog and try to win the machines!  I know I did!

Fashion Inspiration

Today's fashion inspiration is brought to you by the blog Atlantic-Pacific.  I am not one that has the courage or money to show off my daily outfits, but I love to look at fashion blogs daily.  I love her hair.  Her style has a glimmer of Carrie meets Charlotte from SATC.  She really pulls off the stacked bracelets.  Classic style!

In love with these bracelets!  They are making the rounds on the blogs and I think they are so adorable and perfect for stacking!

No Pictures Only Words

I had two job interviews today.  I drove far and away for one and then back home for the second.  I am drained and exhausted.  I feel like now that I know who I am so much better than I did even three months ago, maybe I am going in the wrong direction.  I am at a crossroads.  The husband has an interview tomorrow at ten.  The bright side is that by getting better jobs, we can move into our own beautiful place, even if it is a cheap apartment.  I can slather it with removable wall paper and can put funky furniture finds from the Vintage Vogue in it.  I can make it my own.  I can have my own vanity and an area just for painting and creating.  Dahlia can have her own room.  I can have a big closet.  In the end, that is what I have been craving the most...my own home.  You never know what you have until it is gone.  I never appreciated being surrounded by my furniture and knick knacks that I had accumulated over the years.  I was only able to bring the necessities to my basement, and often think of things in storage that I can't locate.  My milkglass vases, my Martha Stewart Guide to Homekeeping, my book of Sewing from my mom.  I can't even remember everything that I have stored in there.  I fear that I have evolved so much over these few months, that I will unpack my home decor and decide to get rid of it all.

I will post tomorrow after work.

Writing is on the Wall

I am so into framed chalkboards, and chalkboard paint. I am so mad that I didn't but the big framed chalkboard at the Vintage Vogue this weekend!  It would have been so perfect for Dahlia's room.  Here are some other options that I like.  I feel that this is a possible new project for me.

Mason Jar Light

What a great idea!  Where would you put one of these though?  In an entryway, bathroom, or kitchen?

Whimsical

Apparently I am in a whimsical mood today. I don't know if it is the fact that both the hubby and I have job interviews this week, or if the dark fog has lifted from last week finally.

How Romantic

I am really digging this romantic style of furniture.
